Short and sweet. An update from a tired teacher.

GGC has started imitating movements of their favorite rap artists when they sing these elementary school rounds. The kinesthetic connection energizes their tone and since they sound better doing these movements, they get more hype!!!!

The Alpha Male from the class has been removed due to behavior. It has greatly improved the group’s focus.

We played an improv game called “Rabbit, Elephant, 1776” the other day and THEY LOVED IT.

I told them “if you love that game, then you are really going to love Animal Kingdom”. I promised them an entire extended class of playing this improv game that’s like rock, paper, scissors but on steroids. They seem motivated.

Today I gave them their choir shirts. Without hesitation about half of the boys put the shirts on over their shirts. Five of them just took their shirt off and were walking around shirtless as if we were in a locker room before putting on the shirts. It’s just a different vibe.

Here is a round that they love to sing. We haven’t attempted singing the parts together yet. Notice how their tone is energized in the third section…..AKA the section they like to sing. Since this recording was made I have referenced that they should sing everything with the same zeal as if they like something. Happy Friday folks.
